What’s great about him, is he has no interest in people food. The only exception is leafy greens. He loves spinach and kale. He never jumps on the counter, ever.  W e could leave a damn turkey dinner on the floor, and he would have no fucks to give.

I had to go to a building admin/department chair meeting before school this morning (barf!), and the subject of sanitation was a hot topic today.  I got a lot of groans and ewws when I told them that!

Kids are disgusting. Ambulatory biohazards. My strategy is to take the steps to preserve my health so that when the (inevitable?) school shutdown happens, I can spend that time in my workshop. My work area needs re-roofing and I need to level the fridge so its door doesn’t swing open.

I did that for a while, and he did drink it begrudgingly ... but it’s not like he’s asking for expensive bottled water, and he’s so freaking happy when he gets the filtered water. He purrs like crazy and rubs up against your legs to thank you . It’s not exactly a big ask or a real problem.

I think the media is making people freak out wildly unnecessarily . I don’t see schools shutting down at all. Yesterday at my daughters karate class I heard a parent tell his kid, “No, they haven’t shut them down yet, but I’m sure the schools will all be shut down soon.”

I rolled my eyes so hard, I think I sprained them.

I had a cat that would only drink running water. Was found on the street with injuries so I’m guessing he drank something nasty at one point as he also had kidney problems.

I also had two dogs that refused to drink filtered water. Dummies.

There are a bunch of public schools and several universities within 30 miles of me that have closed. Media’s gonna media, whether it’s the New York Times or Fox News. For my part, if I do get quarantined in my home, I want to be comfortable. If not, when this thing blows over, I won’t need to shop for TP for a few weeks. Meantime, I’m doing what the virologists recommend by hand washing, disinfecting surfaces, et cetera. Really, it’s how we’d be smart to live Covid-19 or not.
